Co-founder and President
Dr. Zhong has more than 20 years’ experience in development and commercialization of new products for energy storage devices and held key R&D positions at AVX Corporation, Seagate Technology, Wavesplitter Technologies, and Maxwell Technologies.
She pioneered solvent-free manufacturing process for ultracapacitor electrodes and brought it into a mass production. She holds more than 40 patents for a variety of technologies for energy storage applications, including the Activated Dry ElectrodeTM technology and pre-lithiation techniques.
Dr. Zhong graduated from Zhejiang University with BSc. And MSc. In Materials Science and completed her doctorate degree at Vanderbilt University.
Co-Founder and Vice-President
Martin has more than 25+ years of experience in design, construction, and installation of new process equipment for various industries ranging from agricultural automation to semiconductor manufacturing. Martin is an inventor of multiple patents in energy storage technology currently held by LiCAP Technologies Inc.
Martin is a U.S. Navy combat veteran and holds a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the Cleveland Institute of Electronics
Director of Business Development
Dr. Gerber is an expert in lithium-ion battery and participated in several projects across the entire battery value chain. Most recently she helped with the execution of several geothermal lithium extraction projects in in Germany and California.
She served on multiple advisory boards and participated in development of international standards, drafting of environmental policies and regulations, evaluation of projects.
Prior to LiCAP she worked at the California Energy Commission and managed multiple RFPs, RFIs, contracts, and grant agreements.
Dr. Gerber holds BSc, MSc. and PhD degree in Materials Science from the German University of Bonn. After graduation she worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UC Davis in California.
VP of Global Sales
Mr. Eichler has over 20 years of global experience selling high technology products to a diverse customer base. Most of his career was spent at Maxwell Technologies where he established the ultracapacitor business in Asia Pacific starting in 2006 and added responsibility for the Americas territories starting in 2013. During this time, he successfully grew the annual sales revenue for Maxwell from $500k in 2005 to over $100M by 2016.
Notable applications include hybrid electric bus, wind pitch control, electric rail, grid energy storage systems, solid state drive cache to flash, industrial power quality systems and automotive subsystems. He joined Data Device Corporation in 2017 where he led international sales of high-reliability semiconductors and single-board computers for the aerospace and satellite industries. Mr. Eichler joined LICAP Technologies in November 2018 where he established the global sales organization from the ground up.
Director of R&D
Dr. Kim has 10+ years of experience in research and development of new energy storage products, including lithium-ion battery, lithium-ion capacitors and ultracapacitors. He is an expert with 10+ years of experience in failure analysis, process development and material science. Prior to LiCAP Dr. Kim worked in at LG Metals, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, and NSTC of LINTEC. Dr. Kim completed his BSc and MSc at the Korea University and holds a doctorate degree from McGill University in the field of Material Science and Engineering.
